On 26th June 2024, in the framework of our Meet the Artist series, painter Péter Somody gave a guided tour to the staff of the Central Bank of Hungary.
Péter Somody is an artists, university professor and the head of the Doctoral School at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Pécs. Besides his artistic practice, he is also a paramount figure in the Pécs’ art sceen. His works in the MNB Collection creates a kind of bridge between generations, since besides the works of his master Ilona Keserü, there are also works by his students, for example from Lia Orsolya Vető and Dávid Szentgróti.
During the event, he spoke about his years spent in Germany, his use of materials and even the difficulties of titling artworks.
